A while back, I shared this quote that says, “We don’t need another *insert famous name here.* We need a f*cking YOU.” And I full-heartedly believe this.
The biggest struggle I see online coaches making is trying to show up as every other f*cking coach on the planet. They are trying to show up as the next Jen Casey or whoever, and you know what that’s doing for their biz? Absolutely nothing. Their business is suffering or not getting off the floor or they’re starting multiple businesses and they’re all failing, one right after another. And they can’t figure out why.
Newsflash – it doesn’t matter how many pretty graphics you have or how flashy your website is if you’re not owning your authenticity. Authenticity is f*cking KEY in this market. Why? Because the coaching world is oversaturated as f*ck. I could literally throw a stone and hit seventy-five business coaches from right here. And how do you compete with that and step into the online space and actually hold your own against some of these huge f*cking names? By being YOU and harnessing your own, individual power.
And I know that is easier said than done because it goes against what we’ve always been told to do. Our whole lives, we’re told to act a certain way, not to do or say certain things and to hide little pieces of ourselves so we can be more palatable.
Am I wrong? I don’t think so. I mean, how many of you were an energetic child and your parents told you to constantly calm down? How many of you were told that people don’t like it when you’re that loud or that energetic or that whatever?
And so each year, we hid our real selves a little more. We put on this camouflage coat of armor because we are trying to protect that little girl inside of us who was always being told she was bad or wrong. And before you know it, that little girl got trapped, and we didn’t even know how to access our authentic self anymore.
So instead of breaking down those barriers to really harness our authentic power, we start showing up in the online space as someone else. Because it’s much easier to show up as Ashley Beaven or Jen Casey than to do the inner work to show up as yourself.
But the thing is, that strategy fails every single time. People can tell when you’re showing up inauthentically. They can tell something’s not right and that will ALWAYS get in your – and your business’s – way and keep you from reaching that next-f*cking-level success.
Now, I know some of you may be sitting here and thinking, “Who the f*ck are you to tell me this? How can you know all of this is true?”
Well, back in 2018, I showed up as every other f*cking human being on this planet. I pretty much acted like Jen Casey’s wanna-be little sister and tried to emulate her in every single thing I did. And you know what happened?
Every time I launched something, it completely failed. Every time I showed up in an online video, I would dread it. Every post I wrote flopped. Nothing f*cking worked. And when I got f*cking real with myself about what was wrong, I realized my failures had nothing to do with strategy and everything to do with not showing up as my authentic self.
And that scared the sh*t outta me because the entire world had been telling me my whole life to hide that person. The entire world shunned that person. The entire world said she was too emotional. Too loud. Too energetic. Too much.
But at the end of 2018, after a year of failed attempts and trying to be someone I wasn’t, I hit rock bottom. I was broke as f*ck, and I had a come-to-Jesus moment with myself. It was time to show up as me or not to show up at all. It was time to highlight all the things people told me to hide and to focus on my strengths instead of my weaknesses. It was time to go ALL IN as me…and if I flopped, I would flop beautifully because I’d be me.
I knew that some people were probably going to hate me. Some people were gonna love me. Some people probably would still ignore me. But I didn’t give a f*ck because that little girl inside me was so tired of not seeing the sun. She was tired of being suffocated. She was tired of not being able to stand in her power and show the world who she was because she was a powerhouse of a human being.
So in 2019, I showed up as authentic as f*ck.
I showed up on live video with no makeup on and in my pajamas. I swore like a sailor. I spoke my truth every single day. And all of a sudden my business f*cking exploded. And when people ask me, “What was your secret sauce? How did you build a multi-six-figure business in 11 months?”, I say to them, “I found my true authentic self. I let that little girl stand on the stage that she deserved to be on and show every single f*cking person who stopped by who she was.”

And so if you are listening right now and you can’t figure out why the f*ck your business isn’t making a ton of money when you’re doing everything “right”…look at how you’re showing up. Have you found, discovered and released the true authentic you into this world? Because if you haven’t, that’s your problem.
And if you don’t even know who your authentic self is, I feel you. Because re-discovering and releasing that little girl was the hardest f*cking part. But you have to let all of those protective layers go. It’ll be exhausting and challenging as f*ck.
But just imagine if you actually found this little girl, unburied her from all of this sh*t and let her shine. Imagine the magic you could create. And know that you have every f*cking ability to make that magic happen. My story is not an underdog story. It’s not a Cinderella story. It’s a story of a woman who stopped giving a flying f*ck what everyone else thought and unleashed that little girl inside of her. And the really beautiful thing about that is that this story can also be about every single one of you.
All it takes is for you to decide: do you want to take the easy route and show up like the next Tony Robbins or Rachel Hollis? Or do you want to show up as the unique, badass motherf*cker you are?
The choice is yours. So what are you going to decide?

When we don’t show up as our authentic selves, it’s because we’re trying to protect that little girl inside of us. We build a f*cking fortress around her so that no one can hurt her with their words or their criticism or their actions. But if you want to tap into that little girl’s full power (and I promise, she has a f*cking TON), you need to take down that fortress and show the world the REAL you. That’s how you’re going to make your mark in the coaching world. And that’s how you can change your whole f*cking life!
